SEC Company Information Database Attacked
Vulnerabilities identified in SEC’s EDGAR system – a corporate filings database – may have resulted in hackers profiting from the information they stole.
Clayton revealed the infiltration in a September 20 statement highlighting the fundamental importance of secure data collection and storage to the SEC and market participants. He blamed software vulnerably for the intrusion and said it was “patched promptly after discovery.”
