Eze Castle Integration (ECI) is this year’s winner of the best cyber-security provider category for its Eze Active Threat Protection (Eze ATP) offering, a fully managed and hosted solution powered by Canadian vendor, eSentire. The platform is designed to reach beyond the protection offered by the firm’s Eze Private Cloud service to provide greater depth and breadth of security coverage and insight. Eze ATP provides real-time intrusion prevention, 24x7 monitoring, and incident response on top of the firm’s Private Cloud offering, where counterparties and other third-parties have access to systems at the client level, extending the layers of security at a time when the diligence surrounding the movement and storage of data has never been more closely scrutinized.

Phishing attacks, whereby attempts to acquire sensitive information are often made through fraudulent communications (usually emails), are becoming increasingly prevalent and ever more sophisticated. ECI has invested in this area of its solution over the last year by fine-tuning its intrusion-detection and prevention systems, as well as developing phishing-related training, on-demand awareness and training, and quarterly reports aimed at optimizing security practices across a client’s organization.

Firms’ own staff members are often cited by security expects as the single biggest threat to their security, particularly asset managers that tend not to possess the same budgets as large sell-side institutions. In response to this, ECI has set about increasing knowledge and understanding of a constantly evolving space, where phishing attacks are becoming more prevalent.

In August last year, the firm expanded its information security consulting service to Hong Kong and Singapore, and launched  the Eze Managed Phishing & Cybersecurity Training Service in June, which provides cyber-security training, development and maintenance on an ongoing basis, on top of the Eze Private Cloud and ATP services. The firm has also enjoyed particular success with large hedge funds adopting its cyber-security tools over the last year, as historic “insourcing” approaches are no longer sufficient to cover rapid changes in both the nature of cyber-attacks and regulatory requirements.
