South African central securities depository Strate has been endorsed by the Regulatory Oversight Committee of the Financial Stability Board to provide legal entity identifier (LEI) services in the South African market.

Previously, 150 companies in South Africa had obtained LEIs from international providers.

"Strate is honored to have been endorsed as an issuer of LEIs," says Monica Singer, CEO of Strate. "With this new offering, we are able to expand our product base to the market by providing the local market with the much needed LEI services."
