Nasdaq Offers Nordic Pre-Trade Risk Management

Nasdaq technical glitch hits Apple Facebook and Microsoft
Nasdaq is rolling out PRM tools to its Nordics customers.

Genium INET Pre-Trade Risk Management (Genium INET PRM) offers real-time monitoring of trade flow, including for sponsored and direct market access clients, while clearing members have oversight over transactions. Prior to allowing orders into the matching engine, transactions are therefore validated in real time, and the product is based on Nasdaq's FTEN technology.

"The purpose of effective PRM is to preserve the cost and liquidity benefits of electronic trading, while providing an efficient tool for mitigating the possible risks," said Lauri Rosendahl, Senior Vice President and Head of Nordic Equities at NASDAQ OMX. "Genium INET PRM is an essential tool for members to monitor new market access models, such as sponsored access and DMA, with effective risk management controls."

Other functionality includes orders-per-second caps, price checks and daily accumulated quantity checks.
