SAS, headquartered in Cary, NC, also has offices in London and New York.

SAS DataFlux Event Stream Processing Engine, which will be available in December, processes structured and unstructured data in real time to enable firms to monitor their portfolios on an on-demand basis, says Jim Davis, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at SAS.

"Competitive organisations must incorporate analytics into day-to-day decisions, modeling business processes they can enforce and monitor in real time," says Davis. "Traditional technologies examine what has already happened. SAS DataFlux Event Stream Processing Engine changes that, analysing high-velocity big data as it's coming in, before it's too late to act."
