In July 2010, Waters ran an article on FIX Protocol Ltd. (FPL) aptly titled “Meeting the FIX Family,” which detailed relationships among the industry group’s pilot users. In the short time since then, FPL, founded in 1998, has grown its purview and influence significantly—well beyond the messaging standards for which it originally came together.
