CFTC Sets Interim LEI Standard

The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has requested submissions from securities industry participants to be considered as sources for identifying swap counterparties, starting July 16.

The request is part of work on implementing the legal entity identifier (LEI). The Financial Stability Board, based in Basel, Switzerland, is preparing to receive recommendations from its LEI Expert Group in April for governance and reference data requirements for a global LEI.
