Vendor Update: Vendors Hang On for the Recovery

TRADING TECHNOLOGY WEEK ANNUAL REVIEW 2003

LONDON--Few will wax nostalgic about the difficult market conditions of 2003. The wide reluctance among user firms to spend on IT forced some financial technology vendors out and caused others to scramble for cover (see sidebar, this page).

Those vendors left standing will have to innovate and find wealthy admirers in the hope that IT spending will increase in 2004.

A case in point is London-based independent software vendor (ISV) EasyScreen, which earlier this month announced yet another issuance
