MIDBY DECLINES CFO ROLE AND LEAVES OM

Niklas Midby, executive vice president and head of division transaction at exchange and technology group OM, will leave the firm at the beginning of February. He was due to become chief financial officer following a restructuring in October 2001 that saw the firm shed 70 positions (TTW, Oct. 29).

However, he now says that as it transpired, the CFO role moved closer to becoming a purely financial role, and this made it hard to pursue his main general management
