Deutsche Boerse Gets New Rival: Nasdaq Deutschland

BERLIN--Nasdaq Europe is creating a new German exchange that will use Nasdaq’s new hybrid trading system to target German retail investors, in partnership with Dresdner Bank, Commerzbank and Comdirect Bank and the Berlin and Bremen stock exchanges.

Under the new partnership, the Berlin and Bremen exchanges will merge and link to Nasdaq’s rules and infrastructure. Users can access Nasdaq Deutschland via a connection to Xontro, the Berlin exchange’s electronic order book, for which Nasdaq Europe
