NCR Launches Pen Computer, Possibly For Trading Functions

Pen technology reached a milestone last month when NCR Corp. unveiled its pen-based portable computer, the NCR 3125. Pen-based systems offer an alternative input device that may help automate such functions as deal capture, where traders have resisted keyboard, mouse and voice input.

NCR is targeting its pen-based system at mobile workers who are not particularly comfortable using a keyboard or mouse to interact with a computer.

Into that category fall floor traders at the Chicago Mercantile
