Daiwa Securities Takes Sophis Risk For Equities & Derivatives Trading

TOKYO--Daiwa Securities in Tokyo has licensed a system from Sophis, a Paris-based software house, that enables users to do trading in equities and equity derivatives, as well as set up a risk management system.

The object-oriented package, called Sophis Risk, will be used to support Daiwa's new equity derivatives trading operation, which is being created as a result of the Japanese Big Bang financial markets reforms. By year-end, the Big Bang will allow securities houses to participate in the
