FD Gets A Shot At PaineWebber Derivatives; Teknekron Out

After two attempts on two platforms -- and two failures -- Teknekron Software Systems Inc. is out at PaineWebber Inc.'s derivatives trading desk in New York.
In December, after having given the systems integrator some ten months to deliver a working pilot system, PaineWebber passed the baton to FD Consulting Inc. Thus, what was once a Teknekron Information Bus pilot became an FD MIPS pilot. Both pilots were based on the same hardware platform -- UNIX-based Sun Microsystems Inc. SPARCstation
