European Exchanges 'Smart Route' to U.S. Model

LONDON—With the London Stock Exchange (LSE) grabbing 2.34 percent of order book volume on its first day of trading 49 Dutch equities, many observers were questioning whether this could lead to a U.S.-style model for European equity markets with smart order routing technology as an enabler.
The stocks, which make up the entire constituents of the AEX and AMX indexes, began trading on the Eurosets platform Monday, May 24.
