Lotus Ends Development Of Realtime Product, As Meshell Quits; Wall Street Clients Bewildered

In a move that has left the Wall Street market in the lurch, Lotus Development Corp. has dismantled the development and marketing team supporting its much-touted Realtime Engine and UNIX-based 1-2-3 spreadsheet products. Over the past three months, Lotus has eliminated the bulk of the Realtime development positions at its Cambridge, Mass., headquarters, and -- most recently -- has seen the resignation, effective ten days ago, of Gary Meshell, the group's most visible representative.
