In an attempt to upgrade the network infrastructure that supports its Teknekron Software Systems Inc.-provided digital data distribution system, Credit Suisse First Boston Corp. is considering migrating from Ethernet's local area network to either FDDI (fiber distributed data interface) or ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) network protocols. First Boston chief information officer and managing director Charlie Mayer says that the firm is thinking about making the jump from Ethernet to FDDI or ATM
