LME GETS STRATEGY DIRECTOR
Patrick Birley
last week joined the non-ferrous metals futures and traded options exchange, London Metal Exchange (LME), as director of exchange strategy, say LME officials. Birley’s most recent position was as operations director for FTSE Intl. Ltd. Prior to this, he spent 13 years with the South African Futures Exchange (SAFEX) where he rose to the position of CEO. At the LME, trading takes place via open outcry in "the ring," an inter-office telephone market andOnly users who have a paid subscription or are part of a corporate subscription are able to print or copy content.
