Goldman, DataSynapse Join Forces

NEW YORK--Goldman Sachs and grid software vendor DataSynapse are joining forces to help the investment firm lay the groundwork for a major embrace of grid computing.

The first step, outlined in announcements last week, will be a dedicated distributed computing architecture to calculate global risk management, slated for a debut during the first quarter of next year. Goldman Sachs also took a lead role in a recent round of venture financing for DataSynapse, getting support from Bain Capital
