Tradepoint to Be First Pan-European Exchange

LONDON--UK stock exchange Tradepoint plans to become the first pan-European exchange on July 10 when it adds 230 blue-chip continental European equities to its trading book, with more to follow.

The eight-year-old Tradepoint was saved from the prospect of financial ruin last year when four investment banks with a high market share in European equities trading--Credit Suisse First Boston, Deutsche Bank, Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and Merrill Lynch--bought into the consortium that owns a majority
