Icap-BrokerTec Integration on Hold

LONDON--Even though Interdealer broker Icap last week officially signed a deal to take over BrokerTec, efforts to combine the two firms and their trading technologies are being frustrated by an ongoing investigation into BrokerTec by the US Department of Justice (DOJ).

Icap’s deal to take over BrokerTec, a bank consortium-backed fixed-income brokerage platform, is worth up to £181 million (approximately $292 million). The deal will not be fully complete until the investigation into the alleged
