Morgan Stanley To Shift To NT Desktops, Beginning With Commodities Trading Desk

Morgan Stanley has decided to migrate to Microsoft's Windows NT version 4.0 as the operating system of choice for desktops, including in the trading room, throughout the firm. The firm, which has not plans to switch to NT servers, will deploy the first major tranche of Microsoft desktops this month, on its commodities trading desk.
With this move, Morgan joins a growing number of investment firms whose trading room desktops once had Unix as an ironclad standard, but have lately decided to go NT
