Exco, Intercapital Group In Merger Talks As Exco Energy Discontinues 'Net Service

LONDON--Exco, the UK-based money and securities broker, has disclosed that it is in "advanced merger discussions" with Intercapital Group, a London-based derivatives brokerage.

At the same time, one of Exco's units, Sydney-based Exco Energy, has suspended its novel Internet-based electricity trading information service, due to a lacklustre response by electricity market participants.

The proposed Exco and Intercapital marriage amounts to a reverse take-over of Exco, which will acquire Intercapital
