chairman Peter Kann said he doesn't "see any particular benefit" to spinning off Telerate, which had a 20 per cent drop in operating income for the year. According to a wire report, Kann told investors at Painewebber's media conference that Dow Jones spent $160 million this year for Telerate customer equipment. Kann said Telerate is highly integrated with Dow Jones' other businesses. But Kann did not make any encouraging statements about near-term earnings prospects for Telerate, says
