The vendor is also targeting a further reduction of 70 staff across its combined global news operations, although it has not provided a breakdown of which regions will be worst hit.
The cuts bring the total number of global newsroom staff across the combined entity to around 2,500, only around 100 more than Reuters' news operations prior to the merger. Thomson Reuters is also creating 50 new jobs focused on growth areas such as multimedia, commentary and analysis, with roughly 20 of those
