Intel Preps New Nehalem Server Line

The new processor, which will go into production later this year, is meant to deliver greater capacity and scale capabilities, as well as boost enterprise computing performance, according to Boyd Davis, general manager of the server platforms marketing group for Intel.

Nehalem-EX, part of Intel's expandable segment, will feature nine times the memory bandwidth of its predecessor, the Xeon 7400 processor. The new processor will also have double the memory capacity of the Xeon 7400, with up to 16
