Finance industry finance departments are lagging behind other industries in the use of enterprise resource planning and Web-based tools.
The ideal corporate finance department is a cost-efficient, fully integrated entity that helps set and execute corporate strategy. In reality, however, while the information technology advances of the 1990s radically transformed many corporate functions, finance--at least within the financial services industry--has yet to undergo significant change.
