Salomon Analytics Gets Thin

The verdict after using thin-client software to access Salomon’s Yield Book after 9/11? Clients want to keep it.

It was only supposed to have been a Band-Aid, but it became a new way of doing business. On Sept. 11, Salomon Analytics, a division of Salomon Smith Barney, lost its T1 and T3 connection to one-third of its 272 customers for its Yield Book risk management application. Previously, all of its customers received the Yield Book data through a dedicated frame
