Ruegsegger was previously head of St. Galler Kantonalbank’s executive committee and was tapped as CEO following the 2007 merger of the then-SWX Exchange, SIS Group (SegaInterSettle) and Telekurs.

Officials say Ruegsegger will become an independent advisor, acting as a consultant and dorector, and will remain on the board of the World Federation of Exchanges, where he is currently acting chairman.
