ICE Taps Platts Data for Energy Contracts

The IntercontinentalExchange is using physical energy price assessments for liquefied natural gas and petroleum products from McGraw Hill's Platts energy and commodities data arm to serve as the basis for nine new cleared over-the-counter swaps contracts -- including a Japan/Korea Marker LNG Swap contract based on Platts' Japan/Korea Marker (JKM) -- launched by the exchange today, Aug. 28. Platts now provides physical price assessments as the basis for 158 energy contracts cleared and settled by ICE.
