Derivatives valuation and analytics software provider Numerix recently hired Steve Yen as vice president of business development for Asia Pacific, to run the vendor's newly opened office in the Taiwanese capital, Taipei, to support existing customers and future expansion in response to the demands of the country's growing derivatives market.

Yen was previously a sales manager at Thomson Reuters in the region, where -- as a Numerix partner -- he became familiar with Numerix's products, officials say. At Numerix, he reports to Ted Pendleton, senior vice president of global business development.

Numerix's Asia-Pacific presence also includes China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, India and Australia.
