MERRILL LYNCH HIRES A CTO

Merrill Lynch has hired Ira Lehrman as its new chief technology officer (CTO) of global investment banking and client technology, confirm Merrill officials. Lehrman was formerly the CTO of the debt capital markets group at Deutsche Bank Securities. He also worked as the chair of the Global Fixed-Income Committee's eSyndicate Working Group. Lehrman follows one of the more outspoken IT pioneers on Wall Street, John A. McKinley Jr., who served as executive vice president
