THAIN DEPARTS BOFA

Former Merrill Lynch CEO John Thain has resigned from Bank of America (BofA), according to news reports. BofA announced plans to acquire the ailing Merrill Lynch last fall, in a $50 billion all-stock transaction. Thain held the post of head of global banking, securities and wealth management at the newly created firm. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Thain was CEO of NYSE Euronext.
