GLEIF Readies Free LEI Data Download

File service will not require payment or registration, LEI infrastructure executive says

The Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF), which is responsible for the infrastructure of the legal entity identifier (LEI) system, plans to launch a file service allowing users to download LEIs with associated reference data, GLEIF CEO Stephan Wolf said at the North American Financial Information Summit on May 20.

The downloadable LEI files will be available free of charge and without any log-in or registration requirements, according to Wolf. "We want to provide this so everyone
