SEPA Reference Data Investments to Take Off Next Year

LONDON-The Single European Payments Area (SEPA) deadline in January 2008 is fast approaching, but the more important deadline for the reference data industry will be the one for domestic transactions, according to data management professionals.

Nick Daniel, business development manager at payments reference data provider CB.Net, says the January 2008 deadline covers cross-border transactions, which only represents 2% of payments in the relevant area. Domestic traffic comes under SEPA rules later
