DTCC Highlights Importance of Standard Terms

NEW YORK-Lack of industry agreement on the meaning of financial data terms is an ongoing issue, but a working group is now looking to standardize the market and potentially create an online glossary.

"The key is that we all use the same definitions, so that if you say interest rate and I say coupon rate, we have to recognize that we really mean the same thing," says Carin Avogardo, product manager, securities reference data, The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), who chairs the group
