FIX Committee Studies Internet Language For Future Versions Of Protocol

NEW YORK--The Financial Information Exchange technical committee is getting closer to proposing adoption of the Internet's Extensible Markup Language, or XML, as the basis for future versions of the protocol. But before the technical panel seeks the approval of the steering committee, which oversees all FIX activity, it will set up a pilot using a FIX-compliant version of XML, tentatively dubbed FIXML.
