Smith Barney Singapore Rolls Triarch; Funds Effort By Pulling Some Bloomberg

DEALING ROOM SYSTEMS

The Singapore branch of US-based securities firm Smith Barney is poised to roll Reuters' Triarch 2000 to support an initial contingent of 10 users and migrate all its desktop PCs to Microsoft's Windows NT operating system. The firm will recoup part of the cost of implementing Triarch by reducing the number of Bloomberg terminals used on its equity floor.

Based on its current budget estimates, Singapore expects to recover the additional cost of implementing Triarch and Securities 3000 by reducing
