SocGen N.Y. Builds Platform For Use In U.S., Worldwide

Societe Generale's New York-based technology staff last month completed testing of an internally developed UNIX-based market rate information distribution system. The bank is considering rolling the system out in support of all its trading units worldwide, including an envisioned 300-position trading operation in New York.

Sources say that SocGen has not yet established when and where the unnamed system will be deployed first. They say that the bank's Paris head office gave the go-ahead to a team
