Bankers Trust Signs Global K-R Deal, Replacing Telerate

Bankers Trust Co. has signed a global deal with Knight- Ridder Financial under which the vendor has effectively replaced competitor Dow Jones Telerate as the bank's second- line data supplier behind Reuters. As a result of the deal, it is expected that Telerate's presence in Bankers' international operations will dwindle to nearly nothing over the next few years. In particular, Bankers will soon take steps to cut its New York-based Telerate screen count in half -- from 300 to 150; more
