Toronto Exchange Launches Web Site With Historical Data

TORONTO--The Toronto Stock Exchange is taking its past and propelling it into cyberspace. In early January, the exchange will launch a Web site featuring historical data, including equity trade histories, end-of-day stock summaries, closing prices and monthly trading statistics.

That data, which is available now on such traditional media as CD-ROM, magnetic tape, floppy disk and paper--as well as by e-mail--will be migrated to the new Web site. The TSE hopes to eventually eliminate all paper
