Broker Research Service Is Launched On Internet; Targets Inst'l Investors

EQUITY Web, which distributes full-text broker research reports to the buy side, opened its Web site for business last month. Unlike First Call's Research Direct service and Multex's Multex Publisher (see related story, this issue), the service will be available exclusively via the Internet.
Equity Web has six contributors and is currently in negotiations with Merrill Lynch, says Alex Bentley, president of Equity Web and a former national sales manager at First Call. Contributors include
