Witad Awards 2025: Vendor professional of the year (trading and risk)—Eva Sehic, Lime Trading Corp.
Eva Sehic, CEO of Lime Trading, wins vendor professional of the year (trading and risk) in the 2025 Women in Technology and Data Awards.

What is your position within your firm?
Eva Sehic: I am the CEO of Lime Trading.
How long have you been in the financial services industry?
Sehic: I have worked in the industry for 23 years.
How did you get into the industry? Was it a conscious decision or did you “fall” into it?
Sehic: My journey into the financial industry started as an exploration and was not a deliberate choice. I was pursuing an education in medicine at New York University’s pre-med program when I decided to explore some alternative paths before fully committing to medical school. I landed an internship with Goldman Sachs Asset Management in my junior year and fell in love with the energy and passion I saw in my colleagues there. I knew then, it was the path for me.
On the other hand, I have always been fascinated by technology and like many of us, I had a front row seat to watching the changes it has brought to our lives, both personal and professional. Technology coupled with the spirit, energy and opportunity in the financial field is a marriage made in heaven, as the old saying goes.
More recently, I pursued opportunities that allowed me to merge these two interests because of the potential of technology to transform financial services is one that is quite exciting and one that I feel is very much the future. This intentional path led me to roles where I could utilize my long career in financial services to drive technological innovation and contribute to the evolution of the financial markets.
What does your day-to-day role entail?
Sehic: As CEO of Lime Trading, my daily responsibilities encompass setting strategic direction, ensuring operational excellence and fostering a culture that encourages performance and teamwork. I collaborate with diverse teams to develop cutting-edge solutions that meet our clients’ needs. Engaging with stakeholders and partners is also a key aspect, as it allows us to navigate the complexities of global markets effectively.
What single project/piece of work are you most proud of during your career in the industry to date?
Sehic: I would say that there is one constant theme to my greatest achievements and that is a strong and dedicated team. I take immense pride in having created, fostered, and nurtured high-performing teams throughout my career and I consider this to be my greatest achievement.
It’s been an honor to contribute to their achievements, such as developing and launching a comprehensive trading platform at Lime Trading. This initiative, which integrated advanced technologies like AI and machine learning, enhanced trading efficiency and accessibility. The platform’s success significantly improved client experiences and positioned us as industry innovators. Working with talented professionals has been a true privilege.

What are you currently working on and what makes it significant in the context of your position?
Sehic: At present, my primary focus is on expanding our strategic partnerships to scale our innovative and technological solutions on a global level. This initiative is vital for navigating competitive and regulated markets, enabling us to provide exceptional experiences to a broader client base. By fortifying our ecosystem, we strive to address complex challenges and sustain our competitive edge.
To what extent were you helped during your career by a mentor or role model within the business?
Sehic: Throughout my career, I have been incredibly fortunate to have both official and unofficial mentors who have guided and supported me. These remarkable individuals have been instrumental in shaping and directing my career path, providing invaluable insights and wisdom along the way.
Their guidance has been more than just professional advice; they served as the sounding board for my ideas and the pillars of support during challenging times. Their unwavering belief in my abilities fueled my confidence and inspired me to strive for excellence in everything I do. Without their assistance, navigating the complexities of the business world would have been exponentially more difficult.
What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned so far during your career?
Sehic: While product innovation is essential, it is strategic collaborations or partnerships that truly drive sustainable growth. In competitive and regulated markets, collaboration with partners enables greater scale, resilience, and impact. The financial landscape is complex, but through joint efforts, companies can address larger challenges, enhance their competitive edge, and develop superior solutions. These partnerships are the key to delivering meaningful results for clients of all sizes and achieving transformative growth.
What would you advise women just entering the industry?
Sehic: My advice to women entering the fintech industry is to embrace resilience and strategic collaboration. Innovating in a field that often prioritizes stability over change can be challenging, but perseverance, a clear vision, coupled with strong partnerships, are key. Trust in your expertise, seek mentors who support innovation, and maintain confidence in your ideas. The industry is evolving, and by pushing forward and adapting, you have the power to drive meaningful change and shape its future.
What does this award mean to you?
Sehic: I accept the vendor professional of the year award with profound honor. This accolade acknowledges the collective efforts of our team at Lime Trading and reaffirms our commitment to innovation within the financial industry. This esteemed recognition serves as a motivation for us to persist in driving positive change and delivering exceptional value to our clients.
