Sell-Side Technology Awards 2023: Best sell-side mobile initiative—SS&C Tier1
Product: Mobile Solution for CRM
Overview
Tier1’s Mobile Solution for CRM delivers features that capital markets professionals require when they are on the road. It is designed to allow them to collaborate, track and monitor client activities on a flexible and scalable platform. IT administrators can manage control and distribution to end-users, while providing access to the data they need when they need it.
“At Jefferies, we approach our technology with a client-first mindset. The flexibility of Tier1’s CRM system perfectly aligns with our client-centric ecosystem.”
Marty DeMonte, managing director and CIO, Jefferies
The solution
With Tier1 Mobile Solution―available on iOS and Android phone and tablet―provides users with access to the information they need when they need it. Users can monitor their most interested buyers wherever they go and stay informed of all deal activities with a timeline of tasks, meetings and call reports, and sync that information across mobile devices. Additionally, custom data fields on client records in the firm’s Custom Object Models can now be displayed, with the ability to edit those records from mobile applications. The platform can also be used by sales and research analysts, as it allows them to capture client notes and feedback while on the road and share it with their team in real time.
Secret sauce
Tier1 features a modular CRM platform with capital markets-specific workflows and data integrations already in place. According to SS&C Tier1, user firms can potentially increase revenue growth via new client acquisition and optimal client service in a matter of weeks, with no IT expertise needed.
Recent milestones
- Over the last 12 months, SS&C Tier1 has expanded its portfolio, allowing market participants to benefit from holistic offerings for critical path needs from a single source.
- Tier1 is focusing on extending its analytics capabilities to provide clients with deeper, data-driven decision-making using proprietary and market intelligence.
- Tier1 Mobile is now stocked with desktop reports and dashboards.
- Tier1 Events introduced persona-based corporate access workflows to support a hybrid model for evolving business needs. The firm has also introduced a consolidated booking screen to accelerate booking clients into meetings.
Future objectives
Tier1 is planning to introduce key events workflows on mobile, allowing users to:
- View upcoming events and their itinerary
- Book clients into empty time slots
“This win provides a platform to showcase Tier1’s purpose-built sell-side mobile offering to a large, industry-focused audience.”
Tony Villanti, chief customer officer, SS&C Tier1
Why they won
The ability to work remotely and flexibly while maintaining access to the most up-to-date client-centric information has never been more important for sales and service teams than it is right now. Tier1, acquired by SS&C Technologies in August 2022, was already a prominent mobile CRM provider in its own right, but now that it is part of the SS&C stable, it will surely extend its functionality and reach across both sides of the market and become one of the go-to providers in the space.
