Asia Awards 2022: Best execution management system—Quod Financial

Quod Financial wins the category for the best execution management system (EMS) in this year’s WatersTechnology Asia Awards, thanks to its multi-asset EMS. The platform supports trading in cash equities, listed equity derivatives, FX and crypto/digital assets, and features machine learning (ML) and automated trading functionality. It originated with pure sell-side execution technology, and its focus has been on improving executions and reducing costs for firms on both sides of the market. 

According to Quod, its EMS was one of the first mainstream uses-cases of AI/ML in real-time execution workflows; it has now added both fixed-income and retail trading support via web and mobile. The firm’s collaboration with Exact Pro has yielded a test automation suite that wraps around the platform’s product test environment and allows users to run automated tests and measurements. It has also rolled out Server Multiplexer (SMX) communication, an interface that supports encrypted multiplexed network connections between servers in high-availability environments. 

Quod will look to expand the multi-asset capabilities of the platform and increase the use of automation, thus allowing traders to focus on exceptional trades and problem solving, while also supporting enhanced efficiencies and cost-cutting within banks. Improvements will include pre- and post-trade use of AI and ML to configure the platform, real-time use of ML within algorithms and trading strategies, and instrument/client management using predictive ML techniques.
