Asia Awards 2022: Best reference data service—SmartStream Technologies
SmartStream Technologies won the award for the best reference data service in this year’s WatersTechnology Asia Awards, thanks to its SmartStream Reference Data Utility (RDU), designed to provide the foundational reference data that underpins electronic trading, analysis, operational automation and regulatory reporting. The SmartStream RDU sources, validates and cross-references data using best practices, with its datasets spanning security masters for exchange-traded derivatives, fixed income and equities, and regulatory reporting data for Mifid II/Mifir and Securities Financing Transactions Regulation (SFTR).
The RDU offers futures and options reference data sourced from more than 100 global exchanges, a full Mifid II regulatory dataset, a systematic internalizer (SI) registry sourcing from more than 100 SIs, and the ability to plug into data from every level of the investment industry. The introduction of an API suite provides quicker access to services and data for clients, while also allowing costs to be minimized. In addition, the firm’s Exchange Notification Service provides clients with normalized views of exchange notifications related to the management of listed derivatives reference data.
SmartStream’s Innovation Lab in Vienna plans to take its solutions even further by integrating AI, machine learning and observational learning capabilities into the RDU service.
