Waters Rankings 2021: Best performance measurement and attribution system provider—FactSet

“FactSet’s commitment to unifying the investment lifecycle in a single solution has driven our corporate and product strategy for the past five years. The integration of the key performance workflows from our B-One solution into FactSet Portfolio Analysis is the realization of a critical part of that goal. FactSet offers the only performance solution that unifies our clients’ need for agile analysis with their core production requirements, while deployed on a cloud platform with terabytes of integrated market content.”

WHY THEY WON
Transparency, quick delivery of information, and accuracy are becoming of greater importance as firms diversify into new asset classes and geographies. FactSet’s ability to help users flexibly accomplish these tasks is likely what stood out most to voters in this year’s Rankings.
WHAT’S NEW
FactSet has made enhancements to its information delivery systems, with a focus on APIs, including native integration with cloud providers such as Snowflake and AWS.
It also updated its core portfolio analysis platform to include the transaction-based/security-level precision capabilities and data controls available today in its B-One platform. This brings precision of performance calculations with scale of deployment.
FactSet relaunched its GIPS Composites solution, bringing the workflow-based production process of its B-One GIPS solution to its core FactSet GIPS solution.
The Truvalue Labs acquisition has helped to expand the availability of embedded ESG scores within the performance workflow through its portfolio analysis solutions, data feeds, and FactSet’s own thematic ETFs.
WHAT’S TO COME
2021 will see a focus on tuning FactSet’s portfolio services to the performance analyst community providing a co-source operational model for performance services.
FactSet’s vision for the performance workflow focuses on providing a unique and single true source of performance for the investment process, from official returns and decomposition to quick and agile investment process attribution.
