AFTAs 2014: Best Global Deployment—State Street
SSGX’s risk analytics team processes over $2.2 trillion across client portfolios through truView. At that size, the word “global” is not a misnomer. In light of today’s regulatory demands and the growing complexities of managing risk across multiple asset classes and geographies, truView provides customizable risk solutions based upon a portfolio or risk manager’s specific needs.
The suite of services includes data management, processing and exception handling, right through to custom reporting. TruView connects to State Street's custody and accounting platforms, third-party administrators, custodians and market data providers in order to collect all position-level data. In addition to targeting asset managers and hedge funds, SSGX has also enhanced the platform to create holistic investment risk views for pension plans. In addition, truView can be coupled with State Street’s global regulatory reporting solutions to provide a comprehensive risk calculation and filing service.
As risk management requirements evolve, firms need a flexible solution, and truView helps clients assess overall fund liquidity and their ability to meet potential funding liabilities and redemption requests in both normal and stressed environments. So as the market changes, firms can be better prepared.
Additionally, both in the US and in Europe, regulators are continually issuing liquidity recommendations and mandates, including oversight of liquid alternative funds. SSGX can provide tailored reports with detailed background information on the outcome of stress tests so that the client can have a better understanding of the impacts of liquidity events, while complying with regulations.
The truView platform also helps liquid alternative funds to diversify with multi-strategies and multi-managers—which can be a challenge to do manually while maintaining transparency across the portfolio—and to manage risk.

State Street edged out Bank of America, Citi, and ITG to win the award.
