The datacenter has been designated an "essential" building for its earthquake-resistant construction.

Dubbed SFR2, the new four-floor, 227,000 square foot Telx facility provides 8.6 Megawatts of critical IT power load, and provides access to major network carriers, internet exchanges and cloud hubs in the area.

The datacenter has been built to resist earthquakes, with power and cooling redundancy, and a "friction pendulum system" that separates the building's foundation from its upper floors, allowing it to float on its base in the event of seismic movements.
