Malaysian AM Taps MSCI For Risk and Performance

Hong Leong to use a suite of the provider's products

kuala-lumpur
Hong Leong Group is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Hong Leong will use BarraOne, RiskManager and CreditManager across its asset management, investment banking and trading businesses to alleviate risk, and provide analysis and insight into its risk management processes.

"We have a three-prong approach to risk infrastructure, namely availability of robust yet flexible risk-engines, ease of implementation, and conformation to industry or regulatory developments, such as stress test capabilities," says Lee Wai Sing, the chief risk officer for Hong Leong. "Also, our needs include requirements from sell-side investment banking activities coupled with buy-side investment management companies. Having to deal with a single vendor for all the risk infrastructures and risk reporting needs would greatly alleviate the need for resources in data management, risk analytics development and hardware maintenance and allow us to focus on our job of managing risk."
