The TASE currently operates its market from Sunday to Thursday.

Currently, the TASE operates a Sunday to Thursday week. The board of directors has expressed its support for changing this to a Monday to Friday schedule, with the market closing at 14:00 on Fridays.

"The TASE board of directors discussed this issue at its meeting last Thursday and announced that it favors the proposed measure," says a TASE spokesperson in a statement. "The discussion was based on a preliminary survey, which indicates that the market welcomes the suggested transition and views it in a positive light."

The proposed change and its operational effects will be discussed with TASE members in the coming months. A potential complication for traders in the predominantly Jewish nation is that the religion's day of rest, the Shabbat, occurs on Fridays before sundown, during which adherents refrain from work-related activity. Various strands of Judaism prohibit different activities, such as driving or using electrical devices during the Shabbat.
